OMG.. this brought back good memories.. my mom used to make this. I haven't thought about this meal in years. I know my mother added sliced mushrooms and peas to it. I think maybe that was a way to sneak in more veggies though. Guess I'm going to have to make it now... I hope my kids like it.. I wonder why I didn't remember this.. hmmmmmm

alyssia, I do something very much the same but I use chicken hind quarters that I brown on the stove with no oil before I add the soup and add to the oven. The brown skin adds a depth of flavor. -- Edited by 2598976 at 06/10/2009 9:38 AM PDT

Hi Alyssia, thanks for sharing your recipe. I hope you'll stick around and post some more of your favorites. I used to make this all the time before I married a mushroom-phobe. Now I make a variation on this recipe with cheddar cheese soup or broccoli cheese soup. Yum. -- Lisa

 this really is an amazing dish i've had it since i could eat and now being 18 and cooking its simple and delicious!! chicken breast ( as many as you want)(4-6 per pan) 2 cans cream of mushroom soup per pan of breasts white rice or mashed potatoes season to taste oven to 350 clean and season breast. place in the oven until cooked through. pour 2 cans soup and 1/2 can water MIXED over chicken, let soup thicken 8-10 minutes and serve over white rice or mashed potatoes lemme know what ya think
