Well, David, I just couldnt let you sit over there all night long pondering the labels on Hidden Valley Ranch. Ive come to your rescue! :::Plays Hero music:::: The pack I have, that I used for this says : "Hidden Valley. The Original Ranch Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix" I also have a packet that says its the Buttermilk Recipe. Im pretty sure either would work in this case. According to the Hidden Valley website, this is what the new "original" looks like ~~> http://www.hiddenvalley.com/products/ProdSeasonmix.php Good Luck!

Hidden Valley Ranch has confused me, there is no longer a plainly marked 'original ranch dressing mix' - at least that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Don't worry about me, I'll get by somehow. -- A Poll (CampbellStock vs no CampbellStock) http://kitchentable-campbells.forums.liveworld.com/poll.jspa?pollID=400000003

Ok, that 8-12 cans (that's a lot of cans) This better be good dj.... 'I was acustomed to' original Ranch dressing mix now 'I guess I'll get acustomed to' all the different kinds of packets stating "original". Thanks and Merry Christmas! -- A Poll (CampbellStock vs no CampbellStock) http://kitchentable-campbells.forums.liveworld.com/poll.jspa?pollID=400000003

Haha, you crack me up!!! Answers to your questions.... You may use the original "Ranch" dressing mix. OR the soicier one for extra spiciness. One to two cans of each...EX: 1 or 2 cans of black beans > PS: Which is correct 'I was use to' or 'I was used to > (or too)' ? Just say "I'm acustomed to/....."

Im just getting around to reading this, and it sounds REALLY good. I think I have everything but 1 or 2 items. I think I'll run out and grab those in a little while and make this tonight. Its cool here and we're all sick, so soup sounds wonderful right now!

Hi dj ! Two questions? > 1-2 packets Ranch Dressing mix (for a more taco > flavor use Fiesta Ranch mix) I was use to only one flavor of the brand name Ranch Dressing mix. But when I went to buy it this past weekend for another recipe they had 3 'styles'. Something like dressing mix, dressing and seasoning mix, dip mix, and now I find out they have additional flavors. Does it matter which packet I use and do you know what they call the 'original' from the start of time? > 1-2 cans of the following: > Black beans > Red beans (Kidney) > Pinto beans > Garbanzo beans (chick peas) Is this 1 to 2 cans of each, or is it one to two cans total? > EXTRA: 1 can baby corn ( this makes it fun) I don't feel like fun tonight. Thanks dj. There are some many different variations for this recipe. Thanks for sharing this one with us. A lady brought her recipe to our Christmas party last Friday. It was so good and mild. Usually when I make it I spice mine up. The baby corn looks like an interesting addition. I have never thought about adding garbanzo beans either.

Our Science Lab teacher made this as her gift for all teachers on our 100 hallway, & for the 4th grade teachers. It is wonderful. Here's what I'm making after Christmas for when all our children, spouses, & grandchildren go to the ranch the last few days in December. 1-2 lbs ground beef onion 1-2 packets Ranch Dressing mix (for a more taco flavor us Fiesta Ranch mix) 1-2 cans of the following: Black beans Red beans (Kidney) Pinto beans Garbanzo beans (chick peas) 1 can each of the following: Corn Stewed tomatoes Small can of tomato sauce 1/2 can Rotel tomatoes with chilies EXTRA: 1 can baby corn ( this makes it fun) Brown meat & chop onions in skillet. Pour all other ingredients (with juice) & simmer. Serve with hot cornbread ** Terry served with pepperoni filled bread-YUM!!!
