I was looking for a recipe for this and this one actually looks pretty good (although I'd leave out the bacon). I was just wondering if you could change this around...use like prego sauce with cream of chicken or cream of some other soup to get the creamy sauce so you don't have to buy heavy cream (which always seems ridiculously expensive to me). I love to order this at restaurants but for my kids and husband at home, they love this version even more. 1 can tomato soup 1 quarter cup cream (half and half) 1 medium onion 1 tsp chili pepper flakes 1 clove minced garlic 1 ounce vodka 3 strips bacon - chopped into small pieces 5-6 servings of penne noodles In a pot of salted boiling water cook your penne pasta noodles. In a pan, saute onions and garlic and bacon . Cook until onions are translucent and bacon is cooked. Stir in chili pepper flakes. Add your vodka and cook further until the alcohol has burned off. Stir in your can of tomato soup . Then finally add your cream and simmer. Grate 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Once your noodles are al dente, drain the noodles and mix into your vodka sauce. Sprinkle some more parmesan cheese on top. Voila a nice and tasty penne alla vodka for your family
