When I was young my mom made tomato soup with a can of water instead of milk; and a dash of worcestershire . I loved it. But now my grandbabies love tomato soup w/milk and pour it over cooked egg noodles. I love it too.

I've been playing around with different ideas, but lately I like to cook it with about one or two slices of american cheese so it's all melted, and then adding a little bit of sour cream. It's very filling. ^_^

Saute 1/2 cup diced onion, 1/2 cup diced celery in 2 T butter until tender crisp. Add 2 cans Campbell's tomato soup, a can diced tomatoes, 1 soup can cream or evaporated milk, 1 soup can water and 2 T sherry, vermouth or brandy (optional but so good). Add 1 cup cooked rice and cook until heated thoroughly to blend flavors. Serve with hearty whole wheat bread that's toasted and buttered and topped with Parmesan cheese. Broil to toast the cheese, if desired.

Using the recipe on the Family Size can for Sloppy Joes, I found the results to be too "soupy" but very tasty. Twenty six ounces and 2lbs of ground beef didn't work. I modified the recipe and it turned out better than Hunt's Manwich Sandwich. 1 10oz can Tomato soup, 1lb of lean ground beef, 1 cup of your favorite Salsa, 1 med onion chopped, 1 cup chopped bell pepper. Brown and drain meat. Add onion & pepper. Cover and cook on low until onions clear. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes. This combination allows you to create a meal for 2 or 3 and also allows you to easily increase quantity by using multiples. Tried a blind taste test using left over Hunt's Manwich Sandwich and leftovers from my concoction. Mine won with everyone.

Instead of adding a can of water to the soup, I use two cups of bullion, or british oxo cubes. Add a dash or two of pepper. It truly makes a wonderful beefy tasting tomato soup. Yum! Sandy

cook 1lb of spaghetti while pasta is cooking saute 1 onion minced in a little oil, add basil (not too much) add 2 cans of tomato soup not quite 1 can of water grated cheese a little salt and pepper to taste. simmer while pasta is cooking. drain cooked spaghetti and toss with simmered sauce. sometimes we add mushrooms. this is nice and mild and great for the little ones . adults like this recipe for the great taste, hot meal and very digestable.

My 9 year old son customizes his tomato soup with tortilla chips. You can either let them soak for a while, whole or crumbled, or make the soup thicker by adding only 1/2 liquid and eating it like dip.

I use half & half and add chopped tomatoes and cream cheese, it's awesome! -OR- make it with milk or h&h and add a few drops of coconut extract and top with a little shredded coconut.

My Mom still makes this. Saute onion & 1 pound of hambuger. Ass 2 cans of condensed Cambell's Tomato. (sometimes I add a little milk) add a handfull of shredded cheddar cheese. Toss over 1 pound of pasta. We just eat it then, but sometimes she bakes it with more cheese or breadcumbs on the top.

I've been searching for a recipe for school cafeteria spaghetti, from the 1950's and '60's. I think it was made with tomato soup, hamburg, onion, and maybe small amount of american cheese It was a baked casserole-style. Anyone have the recipe? Thanks.

When I was young MANY years ago and Mom was delivering my brother... Dad was stuck with kitchen duty on short notice. Nearly 50 years later we still eat "Dad's Dinner" ... Tomato Soup prepared with milk and a can of sliced new potatoes teamed with grilled cheese sandwich.

I fix the soup with half & half, add 1 canof diced tomatoes and always top it off with buttered popcorn... The salt and crunch are great.
