Welcome, Mary! This recipe sounds great as my mother loves Campbell's tomato soup and I'd never ever thought of using it in pizza sauce. I have to try this on her and see if she can tell it's in there! I bet she will really like it:)

to The Table, Mary! I've also found that tomato soup makes a good substitute for pizza sauce in a pinch. -- ~~"Crock Pot Queen" Sherrie

I bet using Tomato Soup instead of tomato sauce would give some folks less heartburn. It sounds good and I thank you for sharing your tried and true recipe. Please post more! :)

Hi, I use campbells tomato soup as a special ingredient in my homemade spaghetti sauce.

    Marys Spaghetti Sauce

    1 pound lean hamburger
    1 small onion - diced
    1 green pepper - diced
1 small can of mushroom pieces and stems - drained
    1 clove garlic - minced
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup
    1 tsp white granulated sugar
    salt/pepper/additional seasoning to taste

Brown hamburger in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until the onion and peppers begin to soften. Add diced tomatoes and Campbell's Tomato soup. Add 1 teaspoon of white sugar to sauce. Let sauce heat through for a few minutes and serve over your favorite pasta. :)

mmm. It really makes a delicious sauce. Some people are put off when I tell them there is tomato soup in it, because they cant even tell.
