Meryl, there was no doubt my second child was a girl. I had a girl name all picked out. Well he was a boy, LOL. He was 3 days old before he had a name. :)

Hmmmmm, wonder if that's when they develope some of their ''likes and dislikes'' of some foods.
You know when they are starting to eat baby food and some of it the love to eat....and some of it they will turn up their nose, turn their head away from the spoon and will not open their mouth?:|.

I think baby does respond to sugary things. When you get a non stress test they look for accelerations in the baby's heart rate and you can sometimes make that happen just by chewing on ice chips. I think sugar gets the babies going. I wonder if they can taste anything really? I read in a textbook about how babies can sort of taste things you eat but I don't know if it's a true representation. And how would anyone know exactly? Hmm. It's fascinating.

Does the baby start to respond to what you eat? That will be interesting later along!

May.... huh, Angela? I'm jealous! I feel like I'm going to be pregnant FOREVER!

For those who asked, I don't know gender yet but I'm gonna find out once I have the amnio the end of this month. We decided not to even try to pick names till after we know the gender. I don't want to stumble upon a girls name I love and then be pissed to find out I can't use it;)

Angela, when are you due again? I think you had said May before. How are things going? Do you find baby responds more when you eat certain foods?

LOL, mine loves "comfort" foods now that I'm further along! In the first trimester all I wanted were fresh veggies and fruits!

Now I love dipping chicken fingers in mashed potatoes, french fries, etc! LOL Good thing I dont have much longer left or I'd weigh 900 pounds LOL

    Congratulations, Meryl! How very exciting!

My cravings were not very healthy - Chinese food and Burger King Whoppers. Haha! I could have lived on those two things alone. And lots and LOTS of water.

Your tomato soup dish sounds good. I remember craving food and then sweets and then food and then sweets. Consider yourself lucky. ;)

Oh dear sweet Meryl. I gave up sweets with all my pregnancies! Not uncommon! I gave up beef with my last daughter, wanted beef with my first child, and craved plums and fish sandwiches from Burger King. I wouldn't "touch" a fish sandwich now, from any place that's not a seafood restaurant!!! All this was after I got through the first 3 months. It's not uncommon to begin enjoying or craving things you've not wanted before. OR not want things you enjoyed before. I didn't want coffee at all during my pregnancies!

The end of September! I'm reading this after posting the question of when he or she is due!

    ~~Got any names picked out?~~ :)
