Baked Ziti seems to be a popular dish on the various cooking shows, and it always looks so good! I don't remember a version with sour cream, but it's one of those ingredients that seems to help so many recipes. And of course these glowing reviews help too. Thanks Angela! • Janet

> PS: no they don't carry ZITI in my town either, substituted Yeah, we finally have ZITI in my town.... BUT it looked too plain so I opted for the Mini Penne that looked like it would scoop up extra sauce with each bite.... but it still doesn't fit in my 9x13... back to the lasagna dish.... mmmmm. Thanks Angela Campbells, you really need to tell your website host to fix their login problems........ its been awhile now. OMG... second time fixing this dish, and I am in HEAVEN. -- ....... eat mo' grits -- Edited by 2701101 at 08/20/2009 4:46 PM PDT

I guess I'm lucky, I can almost always find Barilla Ziti at our local grocery store. You could use just about any type of pasta you have though! -- ~*~Angela~*~

I made this last night on the request of my kids. My oldest has already asked that I make it again next week to pack the leftovers in her lunch for school! -- ~*~Angela~*~

I cooked this 2 days ago, but didn't get to eat it until I had it for lunch at work.... it was...... sophisticated... yeah, that's the word. Tasted like a made from scratch, home cooked lasagna. I did have a problem with the 9x13 dish though... ended up using my large lasagna dish just to hold it all. A KEEPER...... thank you Angela. PS: no they don't carry ZITI in my town either, substituted rigatoni. -- ....... eat mo' grits

This sounds interesting with the sour cream. I've never added that to a pasta dish, but I LOVE sour cream! Must try! -- ~~"Crock Pot Queen" Sherrie

My kiddos LOVE this recipe! 1 pound dry ziti pasta 1 onion, chopped 1 pound lean ground beef 2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce 1 1/2 cups sour cream 6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded Directions: 1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain. 2. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce, and simmer 15 minutes. 3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. 4. Layer as follows: 1/2 of the ziti, Provolone cheese, sour cream, 1/2 sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese and remaining sauce mixture. Top with grated Parmesan cheese. 5. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheeses are melted. Serve with a tossed salad and buttered italian rolls. -- ~*~Angela~*~
