One thing I wanted to clarify is the relationship forming between reps and grocery managers. As I mentioned from what Campbell's Rep Derek told me, reps do not call on all retailers in all markets, however, the reps that do, should all have good relationships with the management. Hopefully reps talk to stores about the LFE tool and if they do, it is at the discretion of the store and the retailer whether they will participate in driving more cases into the store for bonus labels.

We have the same problem, there is no local rep for Campbell's to our local grocery stores.

I checked with one of our local supermarkets here and unfortunately was told that there is no rep and all the products come in on one of their trucks and they couldn't help me. Any ideas???

So Saturday's event was nice. It was low-key as their wasn't much store traffic, which was surprising for a Saturday morning. I was there at about 11am. Upon entering the store, there was a small table set up with LFE information and a box to drop your info in for a drawing for free points. My card was the first one in the box. When I went on into the store, the Campbell's Kid was walking around the store and the cashiers looked great dressed in their "Campbell Can" costumes. I located the rep and talked to him at length and you've seen the postings on some of the info I gleaned. There was a Select Harvest Light table and display set up for taste-testing. Also, the rep put Instant $1.00 off coupons on the soup cans. That coupled with a coupon that came printed out with my receipt for 75 cents off three cans (which our store doubles) allowed me to get the new Select Harvest Light at $1.25 instead of $2.75. Not a bad deal. Especially since we need those UPC's for the Newspaper Promotion right now! I've attached some photos. If I think of anything else I forgot, I'll post again. Thanks and good luck! Hi Dawn,
I specifically asked about that - how can others bring in a similar event - and he said that it's really up to the individual rep. Not all reps form relationships with their grocery stores and not all reps form relationships with all the grocery store chains in their area. Also, it's really up to the rep on how much of this "extracurricular" work they want to do. This rep is new to the area and is coming in with a lot of energy trying to ramp up the program. I'm glad. Your idea is definitely a step towards making it happen though - approaching your store managers and asking for it.
Good luck! Kelly

Did the rep share anything about getting in touch with other local reps and if they were receptive to being contacted? I'm considering approaching two of our local chains (Giant & Bloom) to obtain the name of their reps. Both stores give out extra box tops with your receipts sometimes, but I've never seen anything about LFE.

Thanks for sharing your master list!!!

The event yesterday was low-key, but great - just not a lot of traffic at our store. I will post more in the next day or two. The previous posting from "Campbell Mom" was exactly what the rep explained to me, too.

A big score - and I will post this separately so that everyone can see it - is that he gave me the master UPC list - thank you, thank you, thank you! (Yes, he's been reading our posts!) I think that was even more valuable than the 1,000 points we won in the drawing for our school! :)

I also went to this event today as I received a letter sent to our school. I am new to being a LFE Coor. so, I wanted to find out more information.

I spoke with the Campbell Rep who was at the store.

He infomed me that Campbell Reps around the country (mostly employed in large markets) receive Bonus Labels to use at stores. They attempt to use these labels in selling additional displays at the stores they call on. The stores then receive the bonus labels and donate to a local school of their choice. The reps do not call on all the chain store accounts.

This event was innovative that the rep created and partnered with the Lowes Food store. It was desgined for Lowes and Campbells to help the community by giving the schools a chance to win some extra labels. I thought it was a neat idea. The rep was very helpful in answering my questions.

I emailed the direct area of Campbell's Promotions department. Since the Label's for Educaiton area was just as suprised as me at the event it had to come from somewhere in the company. As soon as I get a reply I will post again.

Lena,

Great detective work on how this event came to be at our local store. It will encourage me to get some contact info on the local sales company and make sure we stay on the list for future events, too!

So, obviously I already know that I have a local Campbell Sales Co since they contacted me to let me know of the event, but I wonder - since L4E told you they have no affiliation - how would other folks find whether a local Sales Office exists in their area??

As to the original thread, about a Label's for Education booth---I called and spoke with someone at the Labels area of Campbell's. This event was coordinated by the Loew's store with there Campbell's sales rep. The L4E area was unaware of such events taking place and it took 2 days for me just to get the answer above.

When I asked if we could work with our local stores, the rep stated again that they have no affiliation and were unaware of the promotions. So-just keep asking your local grocery chains about hosting a booth, maybe that will generate enough interest for it to become more popular.

Okay, today I happened to be shopping at the grocery store where the "Campbell's Event" is next weekend. I didn't see any advertisements around the store regarding it, so I asked to see the manager. He told me very enthusiastically that yes, indeed, they were having a big event next Saturday the 13th...that the cashiers will be dressing up in Campbells wear or colors, they'll be giving 1,000 points to each school (didn't see that one in the letter!) and the Campbell Kid (he said a GIRL, not the boy??) would be there, too. So, whew, it is definitely on! I was starting to worry after I put it in our school newsletter which went out today! I will post a follow-up after the event.

With the Giant Eagle Offer in PA. You will need to purchase 10 Campbell Products to get the bonus. You also can get a second one if you check out a different time buying an additional ten items. Its a great time to stock up and get the bonus. This went on last year as well.

If you have a Shop N Save in your area watch their bakery items for bonus boxtop options. Sometimes there is a card that you put 2 boxtops on and it counts for 5.

Susan,
Do you mean September instead of August?
I'll have to check on their sister chain up here in New England and see if they are doing the same. In the past they have done these things but never put in the ad, just a sign on the shelf.
