    Some sides to go with...
    Red Cabbage
    (A sweet and sour side dish that's really nice with pork, ham, or sausage. Tastes better on day two, and freezes well; almost as good as "rotekohl" but this has the 1/4 brown sugar added; and add a bay leaf or two for really authentic german flavor)
    3/4 cup water
    1 small head red cabbage, finely shredded
    3 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 cup distilled white vinegar (cider vinegar is not as strong)
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    2 tablespoons butter, divided
    Place water in a large saucepan, and stir in cabbage, apples, brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and 1 tablespoon butter. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and cover. Simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender. Stir in remaining butter before serving.
    ~~~~~~OR~~~~~
    Sweet Sour Red Cabbage
    Two Heads Red cabbage, chopped
    1/2 - 1 cup Red Wine Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
    1/2 - 1 cup sugar
    2 Apples, cored & chopped
    1 cup water
    Salt & pepper
    Mix all ingredients into a pot and simmer slowly 3 - 4 hours. Balance sugar & vinegar to taste. Serve hot.
    ~~~~~~~~AND~~~~~~~~~

    how about this one;)
    IMPOSSIBLY EASY OKTOBERFEST PIE (with bratwurst, sauerkraut, and baking mix)
    1/2 pound fully cooked bratwurst, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
    1 (8 oz) can sauerkraut, drained
    1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
    3/4 cup Original or Reduced Fat Bisquick baking mix
    1/2 cup milk
    1/2 cup regular or nonalcoholic beer
    2 eggs
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a pie plate, 9x1 1/4 inches.
    Sprinkle bratwurst, sauerkraut and cheese in pie plate.
    Stir remaining ingredients together until blended. Pour into pie plate.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
