Gibber, This is a quick bread. You don't need the bread machine to develop the gluten. Just stir and bake.

ooh, I love beer bread! And beer, but whatever... Can this be adapted for a bread machine? I'd love to give it a try.

I have never heard of Rock Bottom Brewery, but I do like Beer Bread (don't like beer itself, though.) Isn't it interesting how many views this thread has but so few replies? I was amazed to see how many views, but lots of people like beer bread, I guess! -- Worries go down better with soup. ~Jewish Proverb

My daughter and I love Rock Bottom. The beer bread is so good!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Can't wait to try it. They also have this appetizer platter.we get that for lunch on occasion... and share it..we usually have left overs to boot...it's that big.. and that good!

Rock Bottom Brewery's Beer Bread

Rock Bottom Brewery's Beer Bread 2 1/2 C. flour 4 T. sugar 1/2 t. baking powder pinch of salt 9 1/2 oz. pale ale beer 1/2 C. grated cheddar cheese 2 green onions, finely sliced (green part only) 10 oz. jalapenos, finely chopped (optional) 1 T. melted butter to coat bread Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add beer and mix well. Add cheese, onion and jalapenos, if using. Batter will be stiff. Preheat oven to 300°F. Lightly coat 9 x 5 x3 inch loaf pan with vegetable oil spray. Transfer batter to pan, spreading evenly. Brush top of bread with melted butter. Bake in preheated oven about 45 minutes or until bread is light brown. Remove from oven and cool. When cool, cut bread into 1/4-inch thick slices. When ready to serve, put bread slices in broiler and heat until browned, about 1 minute.
