I've had to do that with cream gravy before. I got it almost done and it was too thick and I was fresh out of milk. At that point it was mostly done but it really made me nervous adding water to my gravy. It all turned out great though, thank goodness. -- Lisa

Thank you, those were my thoughts. My boyfriend advised against using water in place of milk saying that it would be watery and not very good. Thanks again.

water will will be fine. it just won't be as creamy. If you have some cheese (white or what ever) add some it will take place of the fat from the milk.

Can this be done? The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of milk but I don't have any milk, can I use water? It's for the Tuna Noodle Casserole with cream of celery soup. Please help, I'm hungry and there isn't much else to eat lol.
