Brilliant site, Lisa! Thank you so much for finding this and posting it. Angela, your hubby sounds like Remy from Ratatouille! :P -- Worries go down better with soup. ~Jewish Proverb

If my husband won't eat it, it's definitely gone bad. I'm glad others are finding this useful too. Thanks for letting me know, Cin! I have this saved to my favorites so I can look up whatever's in question. -- Lisa

I'm so glad you posted this! My "chore" (haha) for tonight is to clean out my pantry and fridge! This will sure come in handy as to what to toss and what to keep! Am I the only one that usually just uses her hubby to find out if something is yucky or not? LOL -- ~*~Angela~*~

Great find!! Thanks for sharing this. Every year right before Passover I clean out my pantry.. not so much that I keep kosher anymore like my parents did...but to donate any food in the pantry that I bought with plans of grandeur and never making what I planned on making.. plus the zillion bottles of salad dressings that I always forgot I brought the "last time" I went shopping.. or my kids tell me we are out of something but they really didn't look. I also get rid of items that only have 2 or so months left on their use by date. My kids refuse to eat anything that has an "expired" date on it... regardless if I tell them it is fine.. and the expired date is just a best used by date.. I also tell them...if they would look at the many different jars of the same item we have..and take the one with the soonest expires/best use by date that would save me some $$. In spite of all this.. I do feel good donating the items. When I bought 10 bottles of dressing last year.. the person who does the collections went.. that is great.. we get the salad but never have dressing to give away with it.

I found a great resource today and just had to share. I know I've occasionally found myself holding a package of leftovers, a pitcher of juice, or a bottle of salad dressing or barbecue sauce and wondering how many days is too many to have it around. I admit not everything you might wonder about is in this list, but it's a lot of good information in one place nonetheless. Keep it or Toss it? -- Lisa
