I relied on Schwan's delivery during the summer when my children were home during summers. Chocolate mint ice cream bars, personal pizzas, egg rolls, California blend veggies, hambuger patties. Ahhh the good ol' days! -- Edited by 795120 at 02/05/2008 6:40 PM

I dearly love Schwans too. I just placed an order for stuffed salmon, potatoe encrusted cod and chocolate cake with vanilla icecream. The cake has a layer of vanilla bean ice cream in it.

Thanks for the recommendation, Carol - more fish always seems like a good thing, so I'll check out the haddock. I've seen the ice cream at M&M's, but apart from a little sample in the store one day when they were introducing a new flavour, I haven't tried it. Good, eh? Chris, if I find myself in Alberta, I'll check it out, thank you! • Janet

Janet, our absolute favourite from M&M Meat Shops is their Breaded Haddock. It is sooo good. Have you tried their ice cream? -- Carol B.

Well pout. We don't seem to have a Schwan's in Canada, and it sounds wonderful! We do have M&M Meat Shops that seems to have similarities, but they don't advertise delivery (although the nice folks who run the location closest to my mother's place do offer no-charge delivery for seniors when the order comes to $40 or more). Their frozen chicken breasts are very nice and handy to have on hand, I've learned, however, that whenever they say "seasoned" they mean "salted." They do make alarmingly good Nanaimo bars - but look away from the nutritional information! • Janet

I ordered Jenny Craig food once and they sent a whole box of stuff, canned and otherwise. I don't know why but I was just disgusted with the whole mess of it and it all went to waste. I'll never do that again.

A friend of mine joined NutraSystem, & ordered allot of food from them She couldn't stand the taste & has it still in her freezer. Maybe it's a personal preference. You know like, some folks enjoy diet sodas, others have to have the Real Thing?!
