    In stead of frying the french toast use the waffle iron to cook it. We use to do this when I was younger. Make sure you coat the top and bottom of the waffle iron with oil. Kids love the holes in the bread. These freeze well and reheat well in the toaster or microwave. I have used precooked bacon you buy in the store and placed it on top of the toast before cooking in the iron (so good).
