I love that they're old enough to cook. It's great fun watching their skills in the kitchen grow. He loves to make omelettes with cheese, ham, turkey, whatever's on hand. Also he's great at mac&cheese (natch LOL), spaghetti (he likes adding various spices and it doesn't *always* end up being yummy but I like to let him experiment sometimes), pancakes, homemade egg mcmuffins, baked potatoes, all sorts of stuff really. I haven't yet let him try his hand at preparing a roast for the oven (I'm a little afraid of what spices he'd add). He does make brownies, cupcakes, cakes, etc. from a boxed mix though. -- Lisa

Oooh, this sounds good. I think I'm going to add this to my "kids can cook tonight" list of kid-friendly foods. My youngest is 11 and he's really learning his way around the kid-chen (see the pun? Haha, ok maybe it's just me) now. -- Lisa

I make one like this only without the cream of chicken - sounds like a little extra flavor. I'll have to try it! -- ~~"Crock Pot Queen" Sherrie

This is a family recipe that was a staple at our Kitchen table when I was young. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as my daughter and I do now! Ingredients: 1.5-2 cups diced ham (how much depends on your own preference) ~10 oz or little more than half a pkg of elbow macaroni (or a pasta similar in size) 1 can Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup 1 can Campbell's Cheddar Soup 1 can of milk 6-8 oz of shredded cheese (use whatever you like - suggest staying away from the italian blends though - colby works great - use mexi blends for a kick!) Salt/Pepper/Garlic and Onion powder to taste Add to your drained cooked pasta the ham, soups, and milk. Mix together well. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheese (hint:my mother used to mixed it into the casserole instead of on top - this is also good). Place in the oven at 350 for about 25 minutes. I've made this for my nieces/nephews and my own daughter - I haven't encountered a child yet who doesn't like it. My mother always served it with Sweet and Sour Beets but use whatever you like most. Please feel free to change it around to your tastes! ENJOY! -- Edited by 3031012 at 02/25/2008 1:03 PM -- Edited by 3031012 at 02/25/2008 1:04 PM
