Thanks for all the great ideas on this forum. This is my first year as coordinator, and it is much appreciated. I have add a photo album of the ideas I will be using at our Open House. Hope it will inspire you too, and help raise awareness in your school.

I would like to do some promotional information and fliers at a table at our school registration day. I am not sure what booklets people are talking about on this forum. This will be the third year for me to coordinate LFE for our school, and I have not gotten any booklets and I am not sure what bonus points you are referring to. Also, I would like to pass out up to date information on what is 1 and 5 point labels for 2009-2010 school year. Does anyone know when this information will be coming out? We only have about 2 weeks before registration, and the info on the web site still has last years dates on it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Excellent idea for Back to School Night. Last year, at the suggestion of my co-chair, she distributed our booklets to the incoming Kindergarteners and I think 1st graders and any new students--she cut all the coupons off first (as the mom of a Kindgergartener, she just spread the word of what had been there) and put the school info on the booklets' point sheets with peel-and-stick labels. I copied point sheets (with the school info written on first) as part of a takehome handout for the rest of the grades (through 5). This will be my second year coordinating. I hope to add a table at our Open House nights (about a month into the school year, one K-2 and one 3-5). If I get permission, I'll ask parents to donate V8 Fusion or Splash and Goldfish to serve, and collect back the wrappers and containers to take off the UPCs. At the table, I'll probably have copies of point sheets, the product list, a handout about any online promotions and maybe explaining some things like Labels for America, my Campbell's Cup trophy on display, and a "Good-Better-Best" submission instruction poster (good being the whole label, better the clipped UPC, and best a filled point sheet--also samples of different UPCs and directions to separate Campbell's from Boxtops etc.). Plus there's a PTO basket raffle those nights, and I plan to fill the Campbell's tote from this past year with Campbell's store items and products--that won't earn us UPCs directly, but will raise awareness as everyone looks at those baskets. And we'll have the Campbell's/Boxtops hallway bulletin board done up to start the year. Lots of plans, and I'm getting lots of great ideas from these forums!

These booklets were offered in May and you had to sign up for them by June 1. Watch your e-mail around May 15 or so for a notice. I bet it'll be posted here as well.

What booklets did they send? Is this something I could request now or is it just for the beginning of the school year? Thanks for the info!

Way to go! That is such a great idea! The way the certificate was on the back of the booklet this year should make that very easy to do! At ours, I asked them to do it and had pens for them to label them for the contest, but had not been prepared with scissors. I had to laugh when I read your comment about a super coupon... that is exactly what people think! Awhile back, I found about a dozen of the recipe books that were left over from quite a few years ago when I was cleaning my garage. There were good recipes, coupons with no expiration date and bonus labels (only 5 points, I think). Anyway, since it was so old I cut the certificates out and put the booklets out since they had such good info. I think every single person that looked through it before taking it picked up another one to check that page and commented on how it must have been a super good coupon for someone to take them all... I had to explain what I had done and why...

I took the booklets Campbell's sent for back to school night and prepared them in advance by cutting along the edge of the bonus certificate on the back cover. As each family checked in, I gave them a booklet and asked them to allow me to rip off the certificate on the back right away "to save them the trouble of sending it back to school." Everyone was glad to do so. HUGE success -- if I'd sent them home to each family I'd have got maybe 20 back (out of 275 families), judging by what's happened in the past with these things. So we not only got all those bonus points -- I think we also did a lot to raise awareness of the program by making that quick face-to-face connection. A lot of parents mentioned that they had proofs at home but hadn't sent them in, so of course I urged them to get them in ASAP. I will definitely handle the booklets this way next year and beyond. This seemed like a good compromise between just having them out for families to help themselves (in which case few certificates would be returned) or just taking all the certificates out ahead of time (in which case they might think they'd been cheated out of some super coupon that was in the missing space ).
