I'd love a birthday month, too. I always try to make a birthday special for the birthday person not just with cake and a party and gifts but I get into stuff like letting them choose things like if we go out, where we eat or what movie we'll see. Just little things because it's "their" day. The one day when hopefully everything goes your way

Angela and DJ, I'm glad to see that others have embraced the idea of Birthday Week! Of course, there's also the potential to expand to Birthday Month (the entire calendar month, or maybe extend it to a month before and after the actual day?). My sister and I are big fans of stretching holidays of all sorts, but then we also have our Commitment to Quantity approach for exchanging gifts. ;-D

Shan, I have the recipe if you'd like! It's the ONLY chocolate cake my family will eat! So, at family reunions, church pot lucks, it was always like, "Momma, where's YOUR chocolate cake? Where's YOUR banana pudding? hee hee....I LOVE MY CHILDREN!!!! I don't add the marshmallows, so I'm not sure it really would be considered a "mud" cake!! Also, in this years "Christmas With Southern Living" they have "Mississippi Mud" cupcakes. I'll post that too if you want! -- Edited by 795120 at 08/13/2007 6:46 AM
