I posted it on here back some time ago I FOUND IT!!!!!!!! Dwan's Gooey Butter Cake Cake: 1 white cake mix 1 stick room temp. margarine 2 eggs Mix, batter will be thick. Spread on bottom of 13x9 cake-pan. I think I spray the bottom of the pan with some oil (its been so long since I made it; I just happen to remember-do not oil the pan-but I do oil my fingers when I spread it in the pan because it is so sticky & thick)) Topping: 1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese (room temp) 1 (1 lb) Box powdered sugar (save a little to sprinkle on top) 2 eggs Mix together. Pour over bottom layer and bake 35-40 min's at 350dF. ~~Enjoy, Dwan Cin(\0/) God is so big He can cover the whole world with his Love ~~~~and so small He can curl up inside your heart~~~~ -- Edited by 2932550 at Oct 21, 2009 10:44 PM CDT

Rozanek's Bakery ''St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake'' 1 cup all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons granulated sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 3/4 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup light corn syrup 1 egg 1 cup all-purpose flour 2/3 cup evaporated milk In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour and 3 tablespoons sugar. Cut in 1/3 cup butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and starts to cling. Pat into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan. For filling, in the mixing bowl, beat the 1 1/4 cups sugar and 3/4 cup butter or margarine until combined. Beat in the corn syrup and egg until just combined. Add the 1 cup flour and evaporated milk alternately to the mixing bowl, beating until just combined (batter will appear slightly curdled). Pour into crust-lined baking pan. Bake at 350 dF for about 35 minutes or until cake is nearly firm when you shake it. Let cool in pan on wire rack. Remove to serving plate. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. This recipe comes from Rozanek's Bakery St. Louis, Missouri. This bakery has been in business for over 60 years. -- Cin(\0/) God is so big He can cover the whole world with his Love ~~~~and so small He can curl up inside your heart~~~~
